I created HomeProGuide.com® as a win-win web site for both consumer and advertiser. As a small business owner myself I was constantly frustrated at the high cost of advertising. As a homeowner I was equally frustrated when it came time to find the right professional when I needed things done in and around my home (repairs, new appliances, etc.).
I researched all available advertising rates in Dallas, TX and surrounding areas. Too cover the DFW metroplex with a continual advertising campaign it ranged in cost from a minimum of $500 to several thousands a month, most involved a long term contract to get the best rates. I know there are no guarantees with any advertising but I couldn't afford to spend that kind of money with only hopes of a return.
Then I turned to the internet, maybe my own web site would be the answer. The cost of a quality web site can be a fairly expensive project itself, not to mention the cost of hosting and promoting the web site, so I was back where I started. And as a homeowner I couldn't find what I wanted online without the "never ending" search. When I did find a site that might have what I needed, I had to give my all my contact information before finding out if they had what I wanted. I get enough unwanted spam, phone calls, etc without volunteering for it..... Again frustration!
I thought it would be great to create a web site with a "one stop shop" theme like a shopping mall. A place consumers could go look for FREE and without giving their contact information and small business owners could showcase their companies. A friendly easy to use web site, with this in mind HomeProGuide.com® was created. Convenience for the consumer and affordable for business owners.
